Experience Teaching Children and Teenagers

- As a student teacher, I taught general music and choir to students at Patton Elementary and Clint Small Middle School in south Austin

- Served as the music teacher at the Daugherty Arts School for 3 years (mostly teaching ages 6-8)

- Provided volunteer guitar lessons at Garza High School in east Austin

- Guitar instructor at The University of Texas from 2002-2004 teaching guitar to non-music majors

-Taught over 40 students per week at a community music school for a year after college and the majority of these students were children and teenagers

- Taught students as young as 4-yrs old on piano and as young as 5-yrs old on guitar

- Have one piano student I began teaching when he was 6 years old. He's still taking lessons and is about to finish the 8th grade. He plays Bach preludes, but can also improvise over the 12-bar blues in any key.

My wife and I have a very musical 1-year-old daughter, and I have recently begun teaching group music lessons for babies/toddlers between the ages of 1 and 2 years old.
